White wedding

Published by admin under Articles

Weddings have always been associated with the color white. This symbol of purity has been the main color used for weddings for decades now and has been known to have been adapted by western cultures after Queen Victoria decided to get married wearing a white wedding gown.

You can have that old romantic air for your own wedding by having yourself an all white wedding. An all white wedding is a very classic approach to the usually colorful motifs that most weddings these days tend to utilize. The all white wedding is a good way to create a sense of nostalgia for your own wedding with a little touch of modernity from some of the decorative mediums you may use for the wedding.

Planning a white wedding can be simple but stunning with the right elements. It does not have to be a totally white wedding in one shade of white, but rather, mix and match different shades and textures of white so that the design elements you use do not come out bland and flat. Having an all white wedding may include using white flowers for the table centerpieces, white gauze curtains for that dreamy atmosphere, white candles of different sizes in different shades of white and different shaped and sized plates for the table settings. Your wedding cake can also be in all white with a few gray and silver accents.

As for the wedding gown and entourage, it would be a huge change from the norm for your entourage to have white dresses on instead of the usual pastel colored confections that bridesmaids wear. Your groomsmen can also wear mostly white outfits with a few accents to cut the monotony of the color. You can have your bridesmaids wear white dresses with small pastel accents for your white wedding with white flowers in their hair and the groomsmen can wear white tuxedos. Your groom can wear a white tuxedo as well with black accents. You can carry a white bouquet and the church can be decorated in different shades and textures of white. You can also hire a white limousine to take you from the church to the wedding party venue.

A white wedding is indeed a nostalgic and romantic approach to the usual multi color and pastel-mix colored weddings of late. You can create this very romantic and old fashioned kind of a wedding with a little research and some help from a competent wedding planner to help you get everything in order.

The Military Wedding

Published by admin under Wedding Planning Books

As a wedding consultant, who specializes in military weddings, I hear brides, who are trying to plan military weddings, lament about the lack of information available about military weddings. Brides are marrying later and are better educated. Even if they are hiring a wedding consultant to plan a military wedding, the brides still want to know as much as possible. Most wedding planning and etiquette books briefly address military weddings, but not to the satisfaction of most military brides. There are situations that face the bride or groom marrying a military person that a civilian couple doesn’t always have to face. In addition to embarking on a new journey as a married couple, the military wedding is the beginning of a whole new way of life and culture. A severe case of culture shock may manifest once the new military spouse arrives at the spouse’s duty location. Welcome to the brave new world of military jargon, acronyms, ID cards, wives’ clubs, customs and courtesies, personnel reassignments, deployments and on and on. Becoming a military spouse is also an exciting adventure–full of new and exotic places, as well as challenges that will test the foundation of your marriage. Or, it will strengthen your partnership as husband and wife, bound by the fondest memories of shared experiences, adventures and challenges conquered. It’s enough to make a strong person weak in the knees. It’s not a life for the faint of heart. So, this book, The Military Wedding, has been written to make the experience less harrowing and more enjoyable. This book is mainly written for the civilian bride marrying a military groom, but I will try not to overlook the civilian groom marrying a military woman and the military bride and groom. A few paragraphs, as found in most books, won’t answer your questions. Consider this your military wedding planning manual or special operating instruction to supplement your main wedding planning guide. Last, but not least, keep your se
